Superintendent
Welcome, Dr. Stephanie M. Hofer, our Southmont Schools Superintendent as of July 1, 2024!
Dr. Stephanie M. Hofer was previously the Assistant Superintendent of MSD of Decatur Township. She is in her 24th year in public education.
She began her career as a Special Education teacher at Central Elementary School in Lake Station, Indiana from 2000-2004. She moved to the Indianapolis area teaching Special Education for Indianapolis Public Schools from 2004-2005 and then the Decatur Intermediate Blue Academy, MSD of Decatur Township from 2005-2007. During that time, she married her husband, Andrew, in 2004.
She continued her career in MSD of Decatur Township and worked as an Instructional Coach from 2007-2011, and then began leading the Blue Academy as Principal in 2011 where she served until 2017. She then moved to the MSD of Decatur Township Administration building where she served as the Director of Elementary Education from 2017-2018, Director of Secondary Education from 2018-2019, and moved into the Assistant Superintendent role, in 2019.
Dr. Hofer received her undergraduate degree from Purdue University, attending from 1996-2000. She earned her Masters degree in Elementary Education from Indiana University in 2004. She earned her K-12 Administrative License from the University of Indianapolis, in 2007. Furthering her education, Dr. Hofer completed her Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Oakland City University in 2021.
Dr. Hofer and her husband, Andrew, have two children, Emma (13) and Drew (10).
